    Update on apple harvest
Our apple harvest has taken a new form this year.  We are following the rhythm of the trees instead of scheduling our picking days.  We keep a close eye on the trees and when enough fruit ripens we head over and pick it.  This means many half days instead of only a few long days.

We thank those of you who have offered to help.  We will try to work you in, but it is more difficult since we can’t always predict very far in advance when it’s time to pick.

    Apples for sale
We now have all-natural apples for sale in the farm store!  Buy them by the pound ($2/pound) or by the bushel ($50/bushel).  A bushel weighs approximately 48 lbs.  and will make approximately 16 quarts of apple sauce.

    Needed:  Canning jars
We are needing more canning jars on the farm.  If you have extras gathering dust in your basement, we’d put them to good use.

    Stories from the farm
Mark: Yoder Heritage Day is coming up this Saturday.  If you have never been, it is quite an event.  I enjoy watching the horse events and I’m especially excited that my favorite band is playing, The Steel Wheels.  For more information on the day, visit yoderks.com.
