Farm Fresh Weekly

New/returning to the farm store:
-Chicken pet food– made from raw ground chicken parts

-Beef stock– made from meaty bones and organic vegetables and herbs (no salt added)

-Fresh cheddar cheese

-A pastured variety of whole chickens (see below)

New pastured poultry
We added a new variety of chickens this year– Red & White Rangers– which we have just butchered and added to the farm store (look for the special label).  This variety of chickens is derived from heritage stock in Europe and is ideally suited for pasturing.  They have a more proportionate body structure and their natural foraging instincts allow them to thrive on grass.  We have experienced significantly lower death loss compared to our traditional Cornish birds.

Now it’s up to you to help us out:  What do you think of the flavor?  How do they compare to the other chicken?  Should we raise more next year?  Please let us know!
