Beef to butcher
We take the first two beef to the butcher tomorrow, which means the store will be re-stocked with beef cuts in time for the spring party on May 28. Also, sides of beef are going fast. If you’re still thinking about ordering a side please do so soon.
Fresh spring butter now available
Butter made from early spring milk is the healthiest, most nutrient-dense kind of butter that we have available. It has the highest CLA count and vitamin A density. If you would like to purchase a quantity, please let us know and we’ll make sure you get what you need. (Many customers purchase the whole year’s supply in the spring.)
Stories from the farm
Ken: The cows are nearly finished calving, but I still have a few that I am waiting on. They come through the milk barn with the others and sometimes it is not always easy to remember which ones I am milking and the ones that haven’t calved yet. To remedy the situation, I started trimming the tails when they calve. Any cow with a short tail gets milked. Long tails pass through.
