**Farm Fresh Bi-Weekly**

European travelers return
On Tuesday we returned from a great trip to Germany, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, and England. We visited many castles and cathedrals, a few farms and museums, and saw some terrific London theater productions. It was fascinating to learn the nuances of wine production in Germany and to see different on-farm stores in England. Best of all was finding David in great spirits adapting to the German way of life!

"Cream of the Crop" club
As a special thank-you to our customers who have purchased over $1,000 in merchandise during the past calendar year, we have created the "Cream of the Crop" club. These customers will receive advance notice of new products and services, and when products are running low. In addition, club members will receive other special rewards throughout the year. If you qualify for the club, you will be notified by email. A BIG thank you to our loyal customers! (Would you like to be in the "Cream of the Crop" club next year? You know what to do!)

Intern search continues...
We are in the process of interviewing applicants. If you or someone you know is interested in this position, let us know this week. More information is available at
www.jakoinc.com

The countdown begins...
It's time for us to order chicks from the hatchery! That means spring is around the corner! Chicks, lambs, pigs, baby calves, fresh milk... great dreams for the middle of winter!

We will be getting eggs this Friday evening. They will be available on Saturday. I'm sorry but the price will have to increase to $2.25 per dozen and $27.00 per case (15 dozen).

**Farm Fresh Bi-Weekly**

New book available
The book, Holy Cows and Hog Heaven by Joel Salatin is now available in the sales room. The book is designed to help consumers be better informed about the food they buy and to make wise purchases. Joel is a good friend and fellow grass-based farmer in Virginia who writes in an easy-reading style.

Barn renovations in progress
We are currently remodeling part of the barn south of the sales room to put in a restroom and kitchen. Before Christmas, we installed plumbing and poured the cement floor. We are now in the process of building walls and putting in electrical circuits. Please pardon the dust and noise!

We're thinking about a intern...
...next year to help with increased production demands. If you are interested, or know someone who would like to learn grass-based production and direct marketing, check it out on www.jakoinc.com/internship.shtml

We will be out of town
Our family will be traveling to Germany from January 11-24 to visit David, the youngest King. A friend of the family will be staying on the farm to keep the sales room stocked and to look after the livestock. If you have special needs or plan to make large purchases, please do so prior to or after our trip. Thanks!

The next Farm Fresh Bi-Weekly will be sent on January 29. Happy new year!
